Did You Catch Lorde's "Man of the Year" Easter Egg?
Ahead of the ‘Virgin’ release.
Lorde returns with the second single from her upcoming album, Virgin. If you’re a superfan, you may have caught the Easter egg teased at the 2025 MET Gala.
Titled, ”Man of the Year” the new song releases alongside an emotive music video. The song was produced by Lorde herself and producer Jim-E Stack. The single barely features drums or sounds outside of Lorde’s voice — and the music video, is seemingly a raw exploration of self.
In the video, the “Tennis Court” singer dances in jeans and no top — just masking tape as a binder. The lyrics read, “Gliding through on my bike, gliding through… Like new from my recent ego death… Sirens sing overnight, violent, sweet music… You met me at a really strange time in my life… Take my knife and I cut the cord… My babe can’t believe I’ve become someone else… Someone more like myself.”
