ICYMI: Primavera Sound's Female Headliners Stole the Show
From Charli XCX to Sabrina Carpenter, here’s what you missed.
Indie music festival, Primavera Sound, returned this year with a 147-act festival — and a fire lineup of female artists.
From its friendly crowd to its stacked lineup, the Barcelona event is exactly why people love music festivals. This year, however, the team behind it all went the extra mile and secured every pop girlies favorite: Charli XCX.
The lineup didn’t end there, either. Lesbian singer Chappell Roan headlined — during Pride Month — and according to Reddit, she was the best headliner. “Unbeatably the best performance of the entire festival. The energy, the crowd, the emotions… everything fell perfectly in place for her to shine,” a concertgoer reported. They added, “No downtime between songs, no distractions, just pure energy. I’m so happy she is finally getting the recognition she deserves. I’m so thankful I got to see her and support Miss Roan live.”
Pop Queen Sabrina Carpenter headlined and shortly after announced her upcoming album, Man’s Best Friend. Indie music lovers also got the chance to enjoy their underrated favorites, HAIM and beabadoobee, too. Singer Clairo was meant to perform, too, but unfortunately cancelled due to logistical issues. Lastly, FKA twigs returned to the stage to perform her many hits, including her highly successful album, Eusexua.
